Two kinds of AI for injury claims

Document review tools tell you what a claim file says. Claims analytics tools predict which claims will become expensive. Many carriers use both.

  • Medical record and claim file review (amaise, Wisedocs, Verisk Discovery Navigator, CCC and EvolutionIQ Medhub, Nomad Data, DigitalOwl, Enlyte). These tools read demand packages and medical records, remove duplicates, build chronologies and answer questions. The best ones link each answer to the page it came from, so the adjuster can check it.
  • Claims analytics (CLARA Analytics, Charlee.ai). These tools score claims for litigation risk, severity, fraud or reserves, using claim data and notes. They help decide where to look, not what a particular record says.

How to choose an AI tool for bodily injury claims

Run a pilot on your own hardest files, check every answer against the source page, and confirm the tool fits your lines, languages, systems and security rules.

  1. Test on your own files. Use your largest, messiest demand packages and medical records, not vendor samples.
  2. Check answers against the page. Pick 20 answers at random and open the cited page for each. See how to check a claims AI answer.
  3. Match your lines and markets. Bodily injury, workers' comp and disability files differ. If you handle claims in Europe, check languages and where data is stored.
  4. Decide between software and a service. Some vendors add human or clinical review; others give adjusters the tool and the final say.
  5. Review security. Ask for the SOC 2 Type II report, HIPAA terms where health data is involved, and whether your data trains the vendor's models. Our 12 security questions help.
  6. Plan the integration. Confirm how the tool connects to your claims system, for example Guidewire ClaimCenter.
  7. Measure the pilot. Track review time per file, reserve accuracy and payout consistency. The claims review ROI calculator sizes the time saved.

How we built this list

We included tools that insurers, TPAs, IMEs or defense teams use to review or analyze bodily injury claims, and that publish enough to describe them. We left out plaintiff-side tools such as EvenUp and Supio, and claims platforms that do not address injury files. Descriptions come from each vendor's own website and announcements, plus independent coverage where it exists, checked on October 10, 2026. Accuracy and time-saving figures are the vendors' own claims. We did not test competitors' products.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI tool for bodily injury claims?

It depends on the job. For claim-wide review of large injury files with answers linked to the source page, amaise is built for it. Wisedocs focuses on medical summaries with expert oversight, Verisk Discovery Navigator and CCC suit carriers already on those platforms, and CLARA Analytics and Charlee.ai focus on predicting litigation and severity.

Which AI tools summarize medical records for insurance claims?

amaise, Wisedocs, Verisk Discovery Navigator, EvolutionIQ and CCC Medhub, Nomad Data Doc Chat, DigitalOwl and Enlyte all summarize medical records for claims. They differ in the lines they cover, whether answers link to the source page, and whether a human reviews the output.

Can AI review a bodily injury demand package?

Yes. amaise, Verisk (Discovery Navigator with Liability Navigator), EvolutionIQ Demandhub, CCC and Nomad Data all describe demand package review. The adjuster still decides; the tool organizes the package, flags gaps and contradictions, and shows where each fact comes from. See what a demand package contains.

Do AI claims tools replace adjusters?

No. These tools read, organize and summarize files, or score claims for risk. Coverage, liability and settlement decisions stay with claims professionals, which is why source links and human review matter.

Which tools link answers back to the source page?

amaise, Wisedocs, Verisk Discovery Navigator, EvolutionIQ and CCC Medhub, Nomad Data Doc Chat and DigitalOwl all state that their answers or findings link to the source document.

Are AI medical record review tools HIPAA compliant?

Several vendors publish HIPAA statements, including amaise, Wisedocs, Verisk for Discovery Navigator, CLARA Analytics, Nomad Data and DigitalOwl. Ask any vendor for its SOC 2 Type II report, its HIPAA terms and how it handles your data.

Is there AI for bodily injury claims in Europe?

Yes. amaise is based in Switzerland, works in English, German and French, and offers EU data centers. Verisk serves personal injury claims through ACTINEO in Germany and Austria and Mavera in the Nordics.
